Held by the Invisible 1
Project: The Weight of Presence
“The Weight of Presence” is a photographic series centered on the body, vulnerability, and trust. Each image captures a state of being — where the body is held by tension, suspended in interaction with the unseen. These works are not meant to be passively viewed but intimately felt, inviting the viewer into an emotional proximity with what is complex, uncertain, or even frightening.
The series is inspired by the philosophy of Donna Haraway, particularly her call to stay with the trouble rather than escape it. In her 2016 book Staying with the Trouble, Haraway speaks of “making kin in unexpected connections,” choosing to coexist with what is unpredictable and unstable. This project reflects not violence, but the deep inner decision to remain — with pain, within the body, and within relational tension.
The ropes in the images are not only elements of shibari aesthetics, but also visual metaphors for the delicate balance between control and surrender, between boundaries and connection.
This project is part of a larger exploration of embodiment, sensuality, and human interrelation.

How to Frame Your Artwork
Works on paper (drawings / prints on paper)
I ship works on paper unframed. Ready-made frames are easy to find (e.g., IKEA’s classic RIBBA). Most include a white mat (mount) that lets the artwork “breathe.”
- Choose white or black frames/mats to suit your space.
- Black mats usually need to be purchased separately.
- You can echo a color from the piece (e.g., a subtle green frame) or pick an ornate wooden frame for a more classic/gothic interior.
Canvas paintings
Canvases are usually displayed without an outer frame—the edges are painted as a continuation of the image for a clean, contemporary look.
If you prefer a frame, choose an open (floater) frame: it mounts from behind and leaves a slim gap around the canvas, adding visual “air” without covering the composition.
Art prints
Many of my prints are offered already framed and marked on the product page as “Framed Print.” In that case, no extra framing is needed.
I also offer unframed prints at a lower price—perfect if you want to choose your own frame. For unframed options, standard ready-made frames (like IKEA RIBBA) work well; canvas prints pair beautifully with floater frames. Please check each listing’s details for size and finish.
